Furthermore, our review team takes careful notes of the components and specs it shares with other popular eBikes, including those we’re riding right now. While we can’t tell you about the exact performance, we hope our spec review will provide a general impression of what to expect if you purchase the Amego Infinite Plus electric bike.
In terms of value to performance, the Amego Infinite Plus is one of the better entry-level eBikes on the market right now. Built with traditional 6061 aluminum alloy, this eBike is a little on the heavy side. The frame has two sizes and frame styles to accommodate all types of cyclists.
The potent Das-Kit rear gear hub motor has an 80 Nm torque output, a level of power you rarely see on an entry-level eBike. Similarly, you don’t often get an eBike with a 65-mile range at this price. By paying a little bit more for an upgraded battery, you can travel over 90 miles on a single charge.
With an 8-Speed Shimano drivetrain and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors, shifting and braking are easy, steady, and very reliable. This electric bike needs few–if any–upgrades either, since it features high-quality pedals, a headlight, a kickstand, a flick bell, and several other great accessories and upgrades. If you don’t want to spend too much on an eBike but still want excellent performance, keep reading our spec review to learn why we recommend the Amego Infinite Plus electric bike!

- Das-Kit Rear Gear Hub Motor, with a 500 W / 80 Nm torque output. Surprisingly powerful motor to find on an eBike at this price point.
- Shimano 12-32 T cassette with a Prowheel Ounce 48 T chainring drivetrain. 8-Speed eBike provides plenty of gearing options to help you control your pedaling cadence.
- Das-Kit L7 display. Somewhat limited in terms of readouts but makes up for it with six pedal-assist levels and a USB Type-A charging port for phones and smart devices.
- Schwalbe Big Ben 27.5″ X 2.0″ tires. Tall, thin tires that offer fantastic performance when riding through the city. Extensive, premium level puncture protection as well.
- Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, with 180 mm rotors. More than enough stopping power to come to a quick and steady rest, even when riding fast downhill.
- Full accessory lineup despite being an entry-level eBike. Headlight, kickstand, rear cargo rack, premium aluminum pedals, and more. Fantastic eBike value.
Cons
- Lengthy recharging time, especially if you upgrade your battery. The base battery takes 5 to 6 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. Upgraded 4 Amp charger recommended.
- The taillight is not integrated into the eBike. Remember to swap out the batteries every couple of months, or it won’t light up how it is supposed to.
- The headlight is attached to the fork, so it tends to move with the suspension system as you hit bumps. Some cyclists get sick watching the light bounce up and down.
Bike Features
- 6061 Aluminum Alloy Frame
A sturdy, durable electric bike built for riding to work or commuting around the city in comfort. Available in two sizes, along with both a stand-over and step-thru frame style to accommodate a wide range of rider heights.
- Dehawk H12 Battery, 624/768/912 Wh Options
Three different battery options to choose from allow you to save money if you don’t need travel distance. The estimated total travel range is 65, 80, and 95 miles for the 624, 624, 768, and 912 batteries, respectively.
- 2 Amp Charger
The typical charger you find included with entry-level eBikes like the Amergo Infinite. Slow recharge time due to large battery capacity, since even the 624 Wh battery takes 5 to 6 hours to recharge from 0% to 100%.
- Das-Kit Rear Gear Hub Motor, 500 W / 80 Nm
An extremely powerful rear gear hub motor that pairs well with the throttle-based system. Quickly accelerate to 20 MPH without even pedaling. Great for those who have frequent stop-and-go traffic as part of their daily commute.
- Das-Kit L7 Display
Fixed, backlit LCD display that can be easily read during the day or at night. Includes a few essential readouts to monitor your riding progress but stands out for the six pedal-assist levels and USB phone charging.
- Shimano 12-32 T Cassette with a Prowheel Ounce 48 T Chainring Drivetrain
Great pedaling control and gear shifting with the Shimano 8-Speed drivetrain. Alloy guard further protects the drivetrain while also guiding the chain, so it doesn’t drop when shifting gears.
- Schwalbe Big Ben 27.5″ X 2.0″ Tires
Tall, thin tires provide great acceleration and a tight turn radius if you stick to paved, smooth roads. Premium LineRaceGuard puncture protection, helping you ride at high speeds without worrying about the risk of suffering a flat.
- Aluminum Handlebars with RST Neon Plus TNL Suspension Fork, 60 mm Travel
Mid-rise handlebars help you maintain a comfortable, balanced riding position whether you pedal or rely on the throttle—moderate suspension support to help you have a more comfortable ride while traveling through the city.
- Tektro Auriga Hydraulic Disc Brakes with 180 mm Rotors
Large rotor hydraulic disc brakes for steady, smooth, and rapid braking. Hydraulic disc brakes last longer and are more durable than mechanical disc brakes, making them our preferred braking system.
- Oversized Aluminum Alloy Pedals
Aluminum pedals offer better traction support and more durability than your typical plastic pedal platform. Larger reflector panels are mounted on the pedals as well, making it even easier to spot you while you’re riding the Infinite Plus.
In-Depth Review
Frame
The Amego Infinite Plus is built out of 6061 aluminum alloy, the most common material base for eBike construction. 6061 aluminum is used to manufacture boat, automobile, and even aircraft components due to the alloy’s structural strength, lightweight, and affordable nature. The Amego Infinite Plus is durable and inexpensive, but with an assembled weight of 58.4 pounds, it struggles in the weight department.
While it may be one of the heavier commuter eBikes we’ve reviewed, it does make up for the heavier weight by being available in two sizes, along with a stand-over and step-thru design. Whether you’re short or tall, you should find an Amego Infinite Plus model that is accommodating for your height.
Motor & Battery
The Amego Infinite Plus is a class II eBike, with pedal and throttle activated motor assistance up to 20 MPH.
We’re amazed to find that the latest Amego Infinite Plus features a Das-Kit rear gear hub motor with a 500 W / 80 Nm output. Gear hub motors are more jerky and underpowered than mid-drive motors, but with 80 Nm of torque, you have more than enough motor strength for a commuter eBike. By just twisting the throttle, you can go from 0 MPH to 20 MPH in just a few seconds due to the impressive motor strength.
We’ve highlighted it a couple of times already, but the Amego Infinite Plus is one of the best entry-level bikes you can get if you have to deal with stop-and-go traffic.
The battery options are impressive as well, even if the charger included is not. You can choose between the stock 624 Wh battery or upgrade to a 768 Wh or 912 Wh battery. Depending on your riding settings, you can travel about 65, 80, or 95 miles, depending on your chosen battery size.
These are all fantastic batteries, with more than enough travel range to commute to and from work. But the charger keeps it from being a genuinely stellar setup. Even with the base battery, expect to spend 5 to 6 hours recharge from 0% to 100%. While the charger is disappointing, the batteries are removable, so you can charge the battery while it’s mounted on the eBike or by taking it indoors. Charge the battery when you get to the office, and it should be full and ready to go by the time you head home for the day.
Display/Assist Modes
Mounted on the left handlebar, you will find a Das-Kit L7 display that you can use to change your motor settings. The display also has some essential readouts and riding metrics that help track your riding performance. However, they aren’t as extensive compared to other entry-level displays.
While you might feel underwhelmed with the list of readouts, we are very impressed with the six pedal-assist levels to choose from with the Das-Kit L7. Furthermore, a USB Type-A port can plug your phone or smart device into to keep it charged while you ride. So, we’re mostly positive on the display, though here is the full list of readouts in case you want to consider swapping it out for another option:
Das-Kit L7 LCD Display Readouts, Metrics, and Settings:
- Current Speed
- Max Speed
- Battery Level (Six Levels)
- Pedal Assist Level (Six Levels + Walk Mode)
- Trip Distance
- Total Distance
- Travel Time
- Amperage Power Meter
- Light Settings
Handling
- On Streets- The Amego Infinite Plus handles best when ridden on city streets. The tall, lean tires provide excellent acceleration along with a tight turn radius, which you can read more about in the next paragraph. The heavy bike weight combined with the moderate suspension support provides ample shock absorption that makes riding over cobblestone and other uneven streets a far more manageable experience. With Tektro 180 mm rotor hydraulic disc brakes, you’ll also find it just as easy to come to a full stop as it is to ride and operate the Amego Infinite Plus eBike.
- Turn Radius- The Amego Infinite Plus has 2’’ wide tires, so it features an extremely tight turn radius for those trying to navigate down narrow alleyways or tight door passages. Further, due to the heavier bike weight, you aren’t going to be as likely to fall over when you try to round or cut a corner. If you need something highly maneuverable, the Amego Infinite Plus deserves to be an entry-level option worth considering.
- Low-Speed Handling- The only area where handling can be a bit of an issue is trying to operate the Amego Infinite Plus at low speeds. Because the eBike weighs 58.4 lbs, it can be challenging to ride at low speeds without motor assistance. Turn on the motor, though, and you have a couple of options that make low-speed handling easier. One option is turning on a low pedal-assist mode, which will provide a small push so you can focus more on maneuvering and less on pedaling. If you get off your eBike, you can also turn on walk mode, which will activate the motor and provide a small push without you having to pedal at all. Just make sure you don’t touch the throttle since your throttle will always provide full power independent of the pedal-assist level.
Gears/DriveTrain
Regarding the overall drivetrain composition, you can expect a Shimano 12-32 T cassette with a Prowheel Ounce 48 T chainring connected by an eBike optimized KMC chain. This setup forms an 8-Speed eBike, which provides additional gear control over the traditional single or 7-Speed configuration many other eBikes use. The more gear options you have, the more precise you can set your pedaling tension to maintain a steady cadence while you ride.
Further setting the drivetrain apart is not only the Shimano shifting, but you can look forward to a slap guard, derailleur guard, and aluminum alloy fender to protect the drivetrain. These guards and fenders all keep the drivetrain extra clean, and they also have the added benefit of guiding the chain, so it is less likely to slip off when you shift gears.
We’re very impressed with the high-quality drivetrain configuration featured on the Amego Infinite Plus and expect you’ll have to do very little to maintain it throughout the year.
Brakes
Despite being an entry-level priced eBike, the Amego Infinite Plus offers a braking system on par or better than what you’ll find on many premium eBikes. You can look forward to Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes, with matching 180 mm sized rotors for the front and back wheel.
These 180 mm-sized brakes are typically used for mountain bikes, so you know you’ll come to a quick and steady stop when you brake in the city where less braking power is needed. Hydraulic disc brakes offer several significant performance advantages over mechanical disc brakes, such as greater stopping power, extended functional lifespan use, greater durability, and more. We wish more premium eBikes would use these brakes, so we are thrilled to see them on the Amego Infinite Plus!
Suspension
While many city commuter eBikes skip out on suspension support due to the added weight, Amego decided it was worth including moderate suspension with an RST Neon Plus TNL Suspension Fork. The fork offers 60 mm of travel, with preload adjust to help you have more even shock absorption as you transition from flat, smooth roads to more bumpy surfaces.
While the tires and frame design aren’t well suited for trail riding, the suspension support greatly helps with shock absorption as you hit gravel, cobblestone, potholes, and other rugged terrains in the city. If you found other city commuters lacking in stability and shock absorption, the Amego Infinite Plus will be a better option for your daily commute.
Pedals
While having poor pedals won’t be a massive problem on an eBike, excellent and comfortable pedals improve the overall riding experience. The Infinite Plus is the latter, with excellent aluminum alloy pedals that you can rest your feet on while you ride. Aluminum pedals offer better traction support than basic plastic pedals used with many other eBikes, and they provide better durability.
We analyze the safety features on every eBike we review, so we want to note the large reflector panels embedded into the eBike pedals. It is much easier to spot those riding the Infinite Plus with the reflector panels if approaching from the front or riding behind their eBike. So while they may be a small component, it is another feature that lends to the very high quality of the Amego Infinite Plus eBike.
Grips and Saddle
The grips, saddle, and handlebars all contribute to the overall comfort you will experience while riding the Infinite Plus, and for the most part, the eBike delivers in this area. Velo, ergonomic rubber grips are very cushy and snug to grab onto, helping you ride for several hours straight without developing blisters or irritating your hands. The grips use a locking system instead of glue, providing a tighter hold on the handlebars while also making them easier to replace when they get worn out.
The handlebars are nearly as comfy as the grips, with a mid-rise adjustable height so you can balance having a low profile for added speed and good posture that is easier on your joints. Both the handlebar and grips match the dark adjustable Selle Royal Black comfort saddle with RoyalGel cushioning.
The saddle is a good size so that everyone (but extraordinarily large or heavy cyclists) will fit on it comfortably. Fortunately, if you find the saddle too small, it is easy to swap out so that those who have their own favorite saddle can quickly get on the road with the Amego Infinite Plus!
Wheels and Tires
The Amego Infinite Plus should feature great acceleration, and that is due in large part to the solid wheel setup. The Infinite Plus comes with 27.5’’ by 2’’ tires, mounted on aluminum alloy double-wall 36 hole rims.
Both the front and back wheel have 13 gauge stainless steel spokes, supporting the tires with a recommended inflation range of 35 PSI to 70 PSI. Because of the wide PSI range, you can customize how your bike rides, with lower PSI good for cruising near the beach or uneven terrain while high PSI provides the best traction and acceleration on smooth, paved roads.
Incorporated with Performance LineRaceGuard puncture protection, the Big Ben Tires allow you to ride at very high speeds with little risk of suffering a blowout. The wheels won’t handle off-road or trail riding well, but stick to riding in the city, and you will have a blast with the Amego Infinite Plus electric bike!
Accessories/Upgrades
The Amego Infinite Plus offers incredible value, not just because of the low price tag and outstanding performance but due to the large number of accessories that come with the stock eBike model.
You have an integrated headlight, a kickstand, full fender coverage, a rear cargo rack, and several other great accessories that round out the Infinite Plus eBike. The one accessory that is a bit of a let down is the tail light because while it is powerful, it isn’t integrated with the electrical system and requires AAA batteries to power instead.
Check and swap the batteries every couple of months, and the setup works. But we would prefer having an integrated braking system instead. That being said, you still have everything you need for the Amego Infinite Plus, making the low price even better when compared to more expensive competitor bikes that don’t have as many accessories.
Recommendation
The Amego Infinite Plus is an incredible value once you consider the performance offered along with the low purchase price. You have two size options, along with a stand-over and step-thru frame style to choose from so short and tall cyclists alike can enjoy this eBike. T
The 80 Nm motor is unmatched by many other electric bikes at all price points; as is the battery configuration that provides between 65+ to 95+ miles on a single charge.
Hydraulic disc brakes and an 8-Speed Shimano drivetrain are premium inclusions, like the saddle, grips, and handlebars. Consider that the eBike comes with a flick bell, headlight, tail light, rear cargo rack, and other fabulous accessories left out even by some premium-level eBikes, and there is a whole lot to be impressed with.
Price shouldn’t be the only thing you consider when purchasing an eBike. Still, given the low price and outstanding performance of the Amego Infinite Plus, it is an easy recommendation for us to make.
If you want an entry-level priced eBike that will make every work commute a fun and comfortable experience, one of the best options right now is the Amego Infinite Plus!
