Aventon is another relatively new e-bike brand, having launched in 2017. They see their mission in terms of mobility for the future. Their bywords are form, freedom and function. For them, an e-bike is more than the sum of its details, its success is based on the way those details come together. They say, “Every person deserves the power to move freely.”
Aventon’s lineup generally sees them offer a traditional frame as well as a step-thru version as well as two sizes in each version, giving them a greater ability to fit a wide range of body sizes that with some e-bikes. Their models run the gamut from fat-tire, all-terrain e-bikes to commuters, a folding model and most recently, a cargo e-bike with the ability to carry a passenger.
Whether a rider is looking for a Class 2 e-bike so they can throttle up to 20 mph or a Class 3 e-bike with a top assist speed of 28 mph, Aventon’s lineup is diverse in its abilities. We also appreciate touches like the fact that most of their e-bikes feature an 8-speed drivetrain; 7-speed drivetrains are far more common in the sub-$2000 price range.
While some companies will offer a few accessories that fit their e-bikes, Aventon took a more expansive approach and on their website they present riders with the better part of an online bike shop. Not only do they offer accessories for their e-bikes, they also sell locks, tools, helmets, vehicle racks and storage covers.
