History of Fazua E-bike Motor
Bavarian FAZUA e-bike motor manufacturer was founded by Johannes Biechele and Fabian Reuter in 2013 in Munich, Germany. The founder’s love of e-bike riding always has them looking for ways to improve the industry.
Loosely translated, FAZUA means “Come on, make a move” in German. Their goal is to make riding your e-bike “energic while keeping the natural feel of riding a bike.”
They’ve accomplished this with the compact Ride 50 Evation FAZUA Energy Ride System. Frame integrated, the system weighs only about 10 pounds. There is no mechanical resistance when coasting or passing the legal speed limit of the motor.
FAZUA designed the Energy Ride System to be completely removable so you can quickly and easily turn your e-bike into a traditional bike in seconds, leaving only the gearbox and bottom bracket in place. Their goal is for the motor to feel natural and integrate seamlessly with your riding style.
They currently make one e-bike motor–the Ride 50 Evation– with three riding modes, all designed to give you the feel of almost having almost no assistance due to the natural ride feel in all three modes.
What Motors Does Fazua Make?
Ride 50 Evation
The FAZUA Energy Ride System has three main parts: bottom bracket, drivepack, and Energy 250x. The system is controlled by a remote that can also connect to the FAZUA app via Bluetooth. The bottom bracket is integrated into the downtube at the crankshaft. The drivepack (motor) slides in and engages the crank, and away you go!
Whatever your biking style, this system blends in seamlessly. The 250W rated power and 55Nm of torque are more than enough to assist most riders. The three riding modes help make the best use of the battery by matching the output with the demand.
Breeze riding mode
This mode is the most subtle of the three, providing a gentle and consistent 100W “tailwind.” You get that assist with low pedaling power and cadence.
River riding mode
Bumping it up a notch to a 210W output, the River mode takes you into a more progressive and extremely athletic feel. The amount of assistance you receive is proportional to the amount of effort you are putting in. So when you kick it into the next gear, the motor follows, providing the power you need to get up that hill or down the trail.
Rocket riding mode
When push comes to shove and the trail is demanding, you’ll need all you can get, and the 250W power assist in Rocket mode will help you tackle the toughest of rides.

Final Verdict: Are Fazua Motors good to use?
The FAZUA Evation offers average power and a decent noise level. But It is the only mid-motor allowing manufacturers to provide road bikes with a sleek silhouette and a limited Q-factor.
The most significant positives are the Bluetooth app connectivity, smooth transitions, and natural feel. We also love how quickly you can remove the battery-motor unit and turn your bike into a non-powered model.
Many premium-level e-bikes offer the Fazua motor and we like and recommend the Fazua Ride 40 Evation.
