However, by comparing the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 to other eBikes we’ve reviewed that share similar components and noting the differences from past Haibike eBikes, we developed our spec review for the mountain bike. We hope our spec review will help you make an informed buying decision by discussing the general feel, performance, and design of the XDURO AllMtn 2.0.
So we’ll say our main finding upfront: the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 2.0 is one of the best eMountain bikes currently on the market.
The premium 6061 aluminum alloy build offers four different frame sizes that weigh an average of 51.7 lbs, a great weight for an electric mountain bike.
The powerful, smooth Yamaha motor provides up to 80 Nm of torque, helping you climb steep hills with little difficulty. The Yamaha Lithium Ion 500 Wh battery has a fantastic range. It can travel up to 120 miles on a single charge, with a premium 4 amp charger to keep the large-capacity battery energized and ready for use.
This is a 12-Speed eBike thanks to the SRAM Eagle PG121 drivetrain, with a very tight build that you’ll hardly ever need to clean or maintain. Having good performance to stop downhill is just as important as being able to ride up it, which is why we enjoy seeing oversized Shimano BR-MT520 hydraulic disc brakes too.

In-Depth Review
Frame
The XDURO AllMtn 2.0 is built with a 6061 aluminum alloy, which is also used to construct cars, boats, and even aircraft components. 6061 aluminum is very popular because it’s lightweight, durable, and affordable to build with.
While the AllMtn 2.0 is a premium-priced eBike, it prioritizes weight and durability since the full assembly weight is just about 51.7 lbs across four frame sizes. If you make a mountain bike too light, and you lose essential shock absorption. Make it too heavy, and it’s too difficult to handle. Haibike picked a sweet spot with the XDURO AllMtn 2.0, the frame and weight alone already helping the eMountain bike stand out from the much heavier competition.
Motor & Battery
The Haibike XDURO AllMtn 2.0 is a class one eBike, with pedal activated motor assistance up to 20 MPH.
You can look forward to a Yamaha mid-drive PW-X2 motor system on the AllMtn 2.0, with a 250W / 80Nm output depending on your motor settings. Mid-drive motors have multiple advantages over gear hub motors, including more motor power and a more natural feel that helps the eBike feel more like a traditional bicycle. With 80 Nm of torque, you can make even the most challenging hills much more comfortable to climb, especially as you set your bike to higher pedal assist levels. The motor has a low energy drain as well, pairing well with the included downtube mounted battery.
The stock battery option is a Yamaha Lithium-Ion battery with 500Wh capacity. Depending on your pedal assist level and motor settings, you’ll be able to travel between 60 to 120 miles on a single charge, far and above what you’ll even find in many different premium city or cross-country eBikes.
Thankfully, a 4-amp charger is included because the one downside to such a large battery capacity is that it takes 5 to 6 hours to charge from 0% to 100% entirely. If you’ve been looking for a mountain bike you can ride and go on a multi-day camping adventure with, then the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 eBike is very much worth considering for its range alone.
Display/Assist Modes
Displays are a bit complicated when it comes to mountain bikes because there aren’t many times you can afford to look down and check your riding metrics when you’re on a trail. So, while some cyclists might want something more advanced, we think that the Yamaha Side Switch is good enough. It doesn’t provide a ton of advanced stats, but what you do get is helpful.
The display is simple to use, which is crucial since you’ll often change your pedal assist without looking down, and is backlit for day or night use. There’s a micro-USB port on top of the display, which is excellent for those who want to charge their phone while riding. The included readouts and settings for the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 eBike are as follows:
Haibike XDURO AllMtn 2.0 Display Readouts, Metrics, and Settings:
- Current Speed
- Pedal Assist Level (Five Levels + Walk Mode)
- Battery Level (Ten Bars)
- Trip Distance
- Estimated Range
- Odometer
For those unfamiliar with electric bikes and how they work, pedal-assist modes help you choose different performance priorities for the eBike motor. Higher pedal assist modes drain the battery quicker, but it provides the engine with more power in exchange.
You can also choose lower pedal assist modes to extend the range of your eBike significantly, but you won’t have as much motor power as a result. Swapping the pedal-assist mode can be done while you’re riding, so be sure to try out each setting so that you’ll know which pedal assist level is best for any given situation.
Handling
- On Streets- The XDRUO AllMtn 2.0 is a dedicated mountain bike, but it can still be fun to ride on city streets. It won’t have the acceleration of a typical city cruiser, so you’re going to have to work and pedal harder to commute to your destination. Due to its slow acceleration, it’s not a good bike for stop and go traffic. But if you ride on older streets with rough road sections, the extensive suspension will make your ride far more comfortable by comparison. Keep your expectations in check, and you can still have a great time riding the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 on paved roads and city streets.
- Turn Radius- The AllMtn 2.0 offers good handling, and it has a tighter turn radius than you might expect for a dedicated eMountain bike. While the tires are 2.8’’ thick, the lighter frame construction was designed so you can make a sharp turn on trail or cutback when needed. While it might not be easy to get through a narrow doorway or winding back alley, it still turns well enough to help you travel everywhere else.
- Low-Speed Handling- Weighing around 51.7 lbs depending on your frame size, the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 is far easier to handle at low speeds than many of the other heavy eMountain bikes we’ve reviewed. You can also make low-speed handling even more comfortable with a couple of motor settings. Set your eBike to ECO+ or ECO mode with the LED display, and you’ll get a small push to your pedaling that provides more bike control without forcing you to travel much faster. Alternatively, get off your eBike and turn on walk mode, and the motor will push your bike along without needing you to pedal. While both of these recommendations require battery power, they also have such a minimal drain that you won’t have to worry about your broad range being significantly impacted.
Gears/DriveTrain
You need a heavy-duty drivetrain to tackle heavy-duty trails, and for the most part, that’s what you get with the SRAM Eagle PG121, 11-50 T cassette, connected to a 38T chainring via a SRAM NX Eagle chain. The drivetrain is tighter than what you’ll find on many other eMountain bikes, which means you’re less likely to suffer a chain drop or get debris embedded while you ride. However, when something goes wrong with the drivetrain, the trade-off is it’s hard to service given how close and compact all of the components are. Though you will rarely have to service the drivetrain. The setup is even more noteworthy since it’s a 12-Speed eBike, providing you with extensive gear options for precise riding control. Whether you’re riding on a short easy trail or challenging a tough hill climb full of rocks and loose dirt, you’ll find the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 optimized to help you overcome any cycling challenge.
Brakes
The AllMtn 2.0 is a premium eBike in almost every regard, with the next reason being the stellar Shimano BR-MT520 hydraulic disc brakes, with 203 mm front rotors and 180 mm back rotors. Braking while riding downhill on a trail will result in more brake pressure on the front tire than the back, so having two different sized rotors is well suited for eMountain bikes.
The 203 mm front rotor has tremendous stopping power, while the 180 mm rotor compliments the front but is lighter so that the eBike is easier to lift from the back. While mechanical disc brakes are easier to service, hydraulic disc brakes have greater stopping power, last longer, and are less likely to break when you crash. AllMtn is short for All Mountains, and that’s what you’ll be able to ride on with the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 eMountain bike.
Suspension
The suspension is critically essential for an eMountain bike, but even we were surprised at the suspension level built into the stock model of the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 2.0 eBike. The eBike features a ShockShox Yari RC suspension fork, with 160 mm of travel, lockout, compression adjust, rebound adjust, quick release, and several other great features. This is a full suspension eMountain bike, so while not as extensive as the front, you all have 150 mm of travel rear suspension, with a dropper seat post with 100 mm of travel. All suspension systems are fully customizable, so not only is it great for all types of trail riding, but it takes just a few seconds to adjust the suspension if you want to swap bikes with someone in the middle of a trail. If you’re serious about trail riding, the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 eBike is one of the best options you can go with for a safe, comfortable, and smooth mountain biking experience.
Pedals
Rugged aluminum platform pedals are included with the XDURO AllMtn 2.0, a good inclusion since you want tough pedals to handle mountain bike trails. The pedals are textured to further improve your foot grip while you ride and will be far less likely to break if you do find yourself falling over on a trail.
The reflective panels are a bit fragile, and instead of embedding them in the pedal, they are mounted on the outside edge. The pedals will last you a long while, but don’t be surprised if the reflective side panels break after a crash or two.
Grips and Saddle
Electric mountain bikes are built tough and sturdy, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be comfortable. The grips and saddle are both custom made components by Haibike, providing a matching look that improves the overall design of the eBike while making sure it’s comfortable for trail riding.
The flat rubber grips aren’t ergonomic, but they are locked on tight. They won’t twist or move when you’re riding hard, a problem we’ve had with other eMountain bikes with softer grips.
The saddle is cushy enough to support even larger riders without being awkwardly shaped so that you have to worry about it digging into your thighs while you ride.
The low-rise grip handlebars have a massive 780 mm width, ensuring that even the bulkiest cyclists will find an excellent way to hold onto the grips without excessively tiring out their arms. There aren’t many size customization options, but the XDURO AllMtn 2.0 is available in four frame sizes, negating that issue.
Wheels and Tires
The XDURO AllMtn 2.0 stock model comes with Maxxis Minion DHF EXO 27.5 x 2.80 tires, though you can upgrade to Maxxis Minion DHR II EXO 27.5 x 2.80 tires if you want even more puncture protection. The DHF EXO tires are fantastic for most cyclists, though, with Alex MD35 32 Hole Rims and 14 gauge stainless steel spokes.
The PSI range is a bit limited at 17 to 35 PSI, but it also means you hardly ever need to make changes to the PSI, with the tires riding great across almost all terrains.
The wheels are tubeless-ready, and the tires feature wide knobs and EXO puncture protection so that you can ride over sharp rocks, sticks, and other debris you come across without worrying about damaging your tires. If we had one recommendation, we would suggest adding reflective side taping to the wheels to make it easier to spot you while you ride. While eMountain bikes typically don’t need as extensive safety coverage as your city commuter eBike, anything you can do to reduce the risk of suffering a collision is worth doing.
Accessories/Upgrades
When it comes to being an eMountain bike, we’ve made it clear already that this is one of the best options out there for trail riding. You don’t need to buy any accessories or upgrades to handle even the most challenging trails.
However, we would suggest adding some lighting and safety features to the XDURO AllMtn 2.0, such as a headlight, tail light, and a bell. While you don’t have to worry about crashing or colliding with others as much on a trail, it happens far more often than many mountain bikers think. It does mean spending a little bit more, but once you consider the XDURO AllMtn 2.0’s expense, having something that’ll reduce the risk of totaling your eBike is worth the small investment.
Recommendation
It is hard to list all of the reasons we recommend the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 2.0 eMountain bike. The four frame sizes help short and tall cyclists have a dependable eBike model they’re comfortable using, and the 6061 aluminum construction keeps the total assembly weight around 51.7 lbs.
The Yamaha motor provides a natural riding experience, with 80 Nm torque to help it overcome almost any hill you might come across on your ride.
The 500Wh battery packs a surprising amount of juice within its cells since you can travel over 120 miles on a single charge with the optimal riding settings.
The SRAM Eagle PG121 drivetrain requires very little maintenance throughout the year, with smooth and steady shifting you’ll often use since it is a 12-Speed eBike.
The XDURO AllMtn 2.0 has powerful Shimano BR-MT520 hydraulic disc brakes, optimized for trail riding due to the 203 mm and 180 mm rots in the front and back, respectively.
The matching saddle and grips are both well made, helping you ride in comfort even when you have a very tough trail ahead of you.
Whether it be the performance, design, or the fantastic suspension setup, this is a premium eMountain bike from top to bottom. If you have the budget for it, we think the Haibike XDURO AllMtn 2.0 is one of the better eMountain bikes on the market and an easy recommendation for new or experienced mountain bikers alike!
